Trust vs. Faith
November 10, 2006

Hello,

I was up early this morning interceding for friends and family.....their families, their careers, their finances, their ministries and their dreams.

I heard the Spirit ask me a question: "Do you trust me?"

I almost spoke in haste to answer "appropriately" by saying "yes! of course!"

I heard a gentle voice reminding me "trust is not faith".

Faith is built upon our understanding of God's ability and proven track record. It is believing that God can...

Trust is different. It is built upon our understanding of God's nature. We may believe that God can (particularly for others...), but often doubt that He will ( particularly for us personally...).

Your faith may tell you that God is able!!!! However, your trust is telling your that God is partial (He favors some over others); God is a fault‑finder; God is angry with you; God is secretly getting revenge on you; God is not fully loving or accepting towards you; Or,  simply, God is not interested in the things that interest you!

Faith is based upon your perspective of God's ability. Trust is built your perspective of God's nature (Good vs. Evil.....Loving vs. Fault‑finding).

Many sons/daughters of God are very "faithful" in the things of God, but "distrustful" of the person of God. If we feel that we are unworthy of being loved freely‑‑‑we tend to project that upon God and see Him as an uncaring God. If we are afraid to live life fully by experiencing true liberty in being authentic‑‑‑we tend to project that upon God and deduce that bondage is His will for us.

We must reconcile our faith and our trust.

If we are "getting" stuff from God because we merely have faith, but don't experience intimacy with God‑‑‑we are both robbing and fooling ourselves.

My prayer for you today, above all else I  have prayed today, is that you would trust God‑‑‑fully!

My prayer is that you would search scripture and the mind of the Spirit for true insight into the Father's nature.

Many of the things that we're suffering are God's attempt to lure us into a better trust‑relationship with Him.

The Father longs to have you know Him and His true nature.

The Father longs to have you trust Him.

The Father longs to be real and not scary to you..........

Be blessed today and know that you are being covered in prayer!!!
